Are you looking for a way to make your labels stand out? Double-sided labels might just be the answer.

Double-sided labels are an innovative and versatile solution in product labeling, offering a unique way to maximize label space by printing on both the front and back. These labels showcase essential information and branding elements from multiple angles, making them an ideal choice for products that need to stand out on crowded shelves or convey more information without sacrificing visual appeal.

What are double-sided labels?

Double-sided labels are exactly what they sound like — labels that are printed on both sides. This printing method allows you to utilize the entire surface area of the label, creating a dynamic display visible from both the front and back. For example, one side of the label can communicate critical product details such as ingredients, usage instructions, or regulatory information, while the reverse side features decorative elements and images, promotional messages, or QR codes for customer engagement.

How are double-sided labels printed?

These labels are typically produced by laminating two layers of label material, resulting in a two-ply construction. The process is relatively simple:

  1. We start with clear polypropylene (BOPP) as the base material.
  2. We then surface print the graphics that face the inside of the bottle. We reverse-print the graphics to ensure your design looks correct when applied to the bottle.
  3. Next, we print a layer of white ink known as a “knockout”.
  4. Then, we laminate the base material to your selected outer label material, creating a two-ply label.
  5. Finally, we print the graphics that face the consumer, creating the front of the label. Your label then continues through our finishing process.

What are the benefits of double-sided labels?

Two-sided labels are highly versatile and are ideal for many industries, including food and beverage, beauty, wine, spirits, and pharmaceuticals. Some of the key benefits and applications include:

  1. Enhanced brand visibility: A two-sided design allows your branding to be visible from multiple angles, making it more likely to catch the eye of potential customers.
  2. Increased information capacity: By utilizing both sides, you can include all necessary product details without overcrowding the design, ensuring your label is easy to read — perfect for products that require detailed information but have limited space.
  3. Space and material efficiency: With the additional space, you can consolidate information that would typically require multiple labels into a single, streamlined label — saving real estate on the product packaging and reducing material usage.
  4. Versatile design options: Customize them to fit any shape or size container and add various embellishments, such as hot stamping, embossing, or varnishes, to further enhance their visual appeal.
  5. Interactive features:  Easily incorporate interactive elements such as QR codes or hidden messages. These features can engage customers and encourage repeat purchases, enhancing the overall customer experience.

Why choose double-sided labels for your products?

In today’s competitive market, standing out is crucial. Double-sided labels provide an innovative way to enhance your product’s packaging, ensuring that your brand remains front and center. Whether you’re looking to reduce packaging waste, increase the amount of information displayed, or create a more interactive label, they are a great way to elevate your packaging strategy.
